It's Not ALL About You!
Do You Share What You See and Hear of God?
Do you openly share your experiences and understanding of God with others?
For some, this doesn’t feel natural—they’re private by nature and hesitant to share their faith. Others worry about being perceived as pushy or forcing their beliefs on others. But holding back may not be the best approach.
Your Testimony matters.
Think of a court of law: testimony is often the deciding factor, especially eyewitness accounts. In the same way, your personal experiences and understanding of God can have a profound impact on others—particularly those who already trust or respect you.
You might feel hesitant, thinking your life isn’t “perfect” enough to back up your words. But sharing your testimony isn’t about perfection—it’s about sharing what you’ve seen and heard. It’s about God’s work, not yours.
In fact, scripture repeatedly emphasizes the power of testimony:
- “We cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20)
- “You will be His witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.” (Acts 22:15)
- “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard.” (1 John 1:3)
- “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” (Revelation 12:11)
Your testimony is powerful.
When you share what you’ve experienced of God, you align with the Holy Spirit—the “Spirit of prophecy”—who always points to Jesus. (Revelation 19:10) Somehow, God’s power moves through your words, impacting both you and your listeners.
How do you share?
It’s simple: don’t overthink it. Share like you would about any significant event—an accident, a rescue, or a moment of wonder. No need to be overly religious or rehearsed. Just be yourself. God will work through your authenticity.
Why share?
- It strengthens your own faith. Sharing solidifies your relationship with God as you recall His work in your life.
- It encourages others. Your testimony can inspire and build faith in those who hear it.
- It multiplies God’s work. When others hear and believe, the ripple effects can lead to transformation far beyond what you can imagine.
Even when listening to someone else’s testimony, embrace it with faith rather than skepticism or envy. Pray for it to build faith in everyone present—including the one sharing.
Let’s ask God to multiply testimonies of His goodness everywhere—so that Jesus’ name would be lifted high and His transformative power would ripple through our lives, families, and communities.
