Do You Want to Be Affirmed and Rewarded?
There is a lot to be gained by understanding who you are and investing your life wisely. There’s also a great deal at stake if you misunderstand, self-protect and do nothing.
The Good News:
You can have impact, be affirmed and rewarded in this life … and even the one to come. …
You’ve been Designed:
You’ve been created on Purpose with a Purpose. “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10).
- You are His work of art to accomplish things He puts in place for you.
David sang out to God in Psalm 139:13-16
“You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful; I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.”
- God wove you together in your mother’s womb, using the resources of your family lines and His creative imagination, intent and power.
- God imagined you and then created you … think about that for a moment.
- God has written His intents for you in a book in heaven. How intense is that?
You are a unique one-of-a-kind expression of the image of God!
God has been shaping you, mixing Spiritual gifts, Heart passions, Abilities, Personality and Experiences. He has infused you with life-resources.
Discover your Design:
If God made you on Purpose with a Purpose, doesn’t it make sense that He wants you to know and understand your design? His greatest gift to you is you, and He wants you to receive all that He has given you.
Learning who you are in Him draws you closer to Him. Discovering with the insight of His counsel the intricacies of your unique design - and offering yourself to Him for His purposes - is an intimate expression of worship that only you can give.
Invest for Reward:
In the parable of the bags of gold (Matthew 25:14-30) Jesus makes it clear that we are to invest our lives for the purpose of multiplying the growth of the Kingdom of God on earth. When we invest ourselves, our resources will be multiplied – to us and through us. We will be affirmed and rewarded here and in eternity.
In order to invest, however, you must know what you have been given. You have been created to be (given) a unique expression of the message of the Kingdom of God - the Gospel. You must learn to align yourself with your design and purpose to express His message in your authentic unique way. This is how you can experience deepest communion with Jesus and reward from Him.
- Take time to learn about yourself. Do inventories, get feedback from family, friends and coworkers. Reflect over your past, glean godly perspective and understanding.
- Align your life with God’s purposes for you. Learn how to live and invest your life in ways that make a positive difference in others.
- Don’t get stuck in cluelessness. Don’t stay bound in fear or laziness. Ask God for insight and courage to align your life. Seek help and guidance if you need it.
- Plan a few steps … and start taking them. Invest your life. If you will be faithful with a few things; God will put you in charge of many things. And, He will invite you to come and share in His happiness!
Don’t put off the work of learning about yourself and how you can best invest yourself in God’s intent and purposes for you. Jesus also makes it clear at the end of the parable that the one who misjudged God, self-protected and did nothing with what was given him suffered loss.
Thankfully, we KNOW God is good and that He rewards those who seek Him, and He multiplies His intimacy and rewards to those who invest according to His design and purposes.
